While Basic Members can enjoy SoulWeavers in many ways, only Premium Members can initiate contact with other Members. All communication at SoulWeavers is both safe and anonymous. If you’d like to send a messages to other SoulWeavers members, click here to become a Premium Member.

Receiving Messages
If you are a Premium Member, you can send messages to anyone on your List of Favorites. When a new message awaits you, a little envelope with a letter popping out will appear on your List of Favorites, next to the name of the person who sent you the message. If you want to read the message, just click on the letter icon, and you will be led directly to your Inbox where the message lies waiting! All new messages can be found in your Inbox. (The title of unread messages will be in bold.)

If you want to reply to a message, scroll down to the "Write Message" box. Make sure the SoulName you’re writing to is chosen at the pull down menu. Write your message. Then press “Send.” That’s it!

Once you’ve received a message, it will automatically be stored in your Inbox. Your Inbox can store up to 50 messages. If you want to keep the message, check the box to the right, press the “Save Checked Item” button, and the message will go into the "Saved Messages" box. You can save up to 25 messages there. If you do not save your messages, they will be automatically deleted in order of dates received. In other words, the oldest get deleted first.

Sending Messages
To initiate contact with another Member, you have to be a Premium Member. (If you're a Basic Member and want to send a message to someone, click here to become a Premium Member.)

If a person on your Search Results page has piqued your interest, and you’d like to initiate contact with that person, all you have to do is this:

  • Add the person to your List of Favorites by checking the box to the right of his/her SoulName, then click the “Add Checked User to Favorites” button below.
  • Once he/she is on your List of Favorites, click the Contact link (all the way to the right of the person's SoulName). You will then be taken to your Outbox
  • Now scroll down to the "Write your Message" box.
    (Make sure the pull down menu has chosen the SoulName you’re writing to.)
  • Write your message and press “Send.” That’s it!

Once you’ve sent a message, it will automatically be stored in your Outbox. Your Outbox can store up to 50 messages. If you want to save messages you have sent, check the corresponding box, press “Save,” and they will be stored in your “Saved Messages” page. If you do not save outgoing messages, they will be automatically deleted in order of dates sent. In other words, the oldest get deleted first. (You’ll be able to see whether your message has been read by looking in the “Date Sent” column.)

Managing Messages
After reading a new message in your Inbox, you have several options. You can:

  • Save the Message -- by checking the box to the right, and clicking the “Save Checked Items” button below.
  • Delete the Message -- by checking the box to the right, and clicking the “Delete Checked Items” button below.
  • Learn more about the Sender -- by clicking on the sender’s SoulName. This will take you to his or her profile .
  • Block the Sender of the Message -- by following the instructions provided below.

Why can’t I send messages?
If you’re a Basic Member, you can not initiate contact with other Members. You can do many other things, but not that! If you’d like to become a Premium Member and be able to send messages, click here.

If you’re a Premium Member, there’s no reason why you can’t send messages. Make sure that the person you’re trying to communicate with has been added to your List of Favorites. You can only communicate with people on this list. If you still can’t send messages, please contact our Customer Service. We’ll do what we can to help you out!

What if no one has written me back?
We’re sorry to hear that you haven’t heard back from someone yet. Who knows why? Maybe the people you’ve contacted are out of town, or perhaps they aren’t interested in corresponding with you at this time. Please don’t be discouraged. You may need to use a bit more patience and persistence. You might want to put more energy into your profile. That often helps. Search on and have faith!

Can I tell if someone has read a message I’ve sent to them?
Yes! Just go to your Outbox (at Message Central). If someone has read your message, its subject will no longer be bold, and the text “Read Mail” will appear under the “Date Sent” column. If she or he hasn’t read the message, your message’s subject will still be bold, and the text will say “New Mail.”

What if I receive a message asking me for money?
Oooh, that sounds like a big SoulWeavers no no! If you receive a message that smells of solicitation or spam, please let us know. Forward the message to our Support Section, and we’ll take care of the rest. We thank you for helping us keep SoulWeavers a hassle-free community!

How does the ‘block feature’ work?
Basically, when you block someone, you end all correspondence between you and the person. Once you’ve blocked someone, they’re pretty much blocked for good. So if you are more interested in taking a break than pulling the plug, just remove him or her from your List of Favorites.

To block someone:

  • go to your List of Favorites
  • find the sender’s SoulName
  • check the box to the right
  • click the “Block Checked User” button
